  1. You can set List By options for selected entries or for the whole document.  (Because Set List By is such a powerful feature, it is recommended that you always apply it to selected entries.)

  3. 1. Select your entries in Browse or Layout mode.
  4.     Use the Find List By to do this if you wish.
  5.  
  6. 2. Select Find/Set List By from the Search menu.
  7.  
  8. 3. Click the appropriate column for each option:
  9.  
  10. •  Set List By On turns the List By option on.
  11.  
  12. •  Set List By Off turns the List By option off.*
  13.  
  14. •  Do Not Set leaves the current setting alone.
  15.  
  16. 4. To apply the settings to your selected entries,
  17.     click Set.
  18.  
  19.     If you want to apply these settings to all the
  20.     entries in the file, click All Entries under Range.
  21.     (We do not recommend doing this because it will
  22.     make extensive changes to your file.)  Then
  23.     click Set.

  25. *  Note that each entry in an Address Book Plus
  26.     document must have at least one List By setting
  27.     turned on.  If it happens that the Set List By Off
  28.     operation removes the last List By option for an
  29.     entry, Address Book Plus will automatically
  30.     select an option to turn on.  It will choose the
  31.     first of the three fields that has data in it.  If
  32.     none of the fields for the entry has data in it,
  33.     Address Book Plus will turn on List By Name.
